The scarab bobbed 1n 1ts h1gher alt1tude as Hayaah fell to her hands and knees bes1de the su1cycle. Her shoulders shook w1th seeth1ng rage as she let out another scream 1nto the sand and d1rt. Hayaah sat up on her knees, stay1ng l1ke that for a moment unt1l she caught her breath and rega1ned her composure. Her shoulders eventually relaxed as her head bobbed down for a moment. Eventually, Hayaah stood back up on her feet and rega1ned her composure. Collect1ng the dust covered suppl1es, she took 1nventory of very few th1ngs ava1lable. A mostly empty water canteen, goggles, a revolver w1th enough spare bullets for one reload, an empty gas can, and one large kn1fe. Hayaah stood there, star1ng at the objects she collected as her shoulders fell w1th agon1z1ng real1zat1on. Tak1ng a deep breath, she put on the goggles and removed her jacket to cover her head to protect herself from the glar1ng heat. Hayaah stowed the gun, bullets, and kn1fe, loop1ng the water canteen’s cl1p through a belt loop. Leav1ng the gas can and downed su1cycle beh1nd, Hayaah d1dn’t look back as she trekked on 1n the same d1rect1on she had been dr1v1ng 1n moments before. After the su1cycle left the scarab drone’s range of v1ew, the 1ssue of v1sual loop monotony recurred. The subsequent hours of the l1ve footage were made up solely of Hayaah walk1ng through the desert, over large and small h1lls, avo1d1ng p1ts and embarrass1ngly stumbl1ng over h1dden rocks. Hayaah cont1nued march1ng forward. When the water canteen’s contents f1n1shed, she chucked 1t as far and as hard as she could. She cont1nued forward. A few more hours pass on the l1ve stream’s clock. Hayaah’s march1ng pace not1ceably slowed over t1me. Slower and slower, she dragged her feet through the mounds of rocks and sand. Her head bobbed as her breath1ng became heav1ly labored, aud1bly pant1ng from dehydrat1on. Desp1te try1ng to avo1d 1t, Hayaah stumbled near the edge of a part1cularly steep-angled drop. Catch1ng herself, she put a hand on her chest from the sudden adrenal1ne sp1ke. Attempt1ng to maneuver away from the edge, Hayaah’s foot caught on another h1dden jagged rock covered over 1n dust. W1th dehydrat1on work1ng aga1nst her, completely throw1ng off her 1nternal sense of balance, Hayaah’s dragg1ng foot met the rock head-on. She tr1pped and stumbled backwards. Her arms fla1led as she was unable to catch her balance. Hayaah fell over the drop, tumbl1ng down the steep and rocky terra1n for what felt l1ke an etern1ty. 1t was honestly k1nd of embarrass1ng. F1nally at the bottom, Hayaah tumbled to a complete stop when the ground evened out under her. The sand 1n the a1r around her settled, f1nally g1v1ng a clearer v1ew to the scarab of the aftermath. And there she was, on the ground, exhausted, and crusted over w1th sand cl1ng1ng to her ha1r and clothes.
