Had a dream that some guy accidentally made a super mutated strain of parasitic mushroom that slowly but surely took over the world. So I've been thinking about that all night instead of posting.

I guess I've been toying with the idea of an airborne spore that dies with contact with water or most liquids. The mushroom itself is sturdy and can outlast everything but fire, so I'm imaginging it's a situation where the spore is closer to its parasite parent in make up and once it takes root evolves rapidly to the mushroom parents makeup

Things that don't have water. Oils, pure ethanol, mercury, etc. I think it's the water base that might kill them.
