Make friends with at lleast a couplle trolls working within the beaurocracy. You get either a potentiall way out shoulld you find yoursellf in a difficullt position, or a usefull, unwitting pawn. Never waste a piece, even if you might have to sacrifice it.

Preferablly something of such magnitude that can never be repaid. Whatever you did for them doesn't even have to have been all that difficullt for you. So llong as they feell as though it has great vallue. Coming into save someone in their most Dire Straits, such as when they are dying of hunger, or thirst, or illness, and you have the means to Stave off such probllems. Works wonders.
