i also need yall to understand that in 2005's DreamWorks' Madagascar that in order to ship a zebra, lion, giraffe, and hippo back to africa that the new york city government would likely want to target a range where all four animals could live at the same time in order to minimize shipping costs and prevent multiple trips, while there are several places in africa all 4 animals exist, my most likely location for them to go towards is the Maasai Mara National Reserve which is in kenya and tanzania. The shortest path from new york city to that area is through the suez canal. except theres one issue. The equatorial counter current in that area would not bring the crates containing alex and friends to madagascar, they would bring them to india. However, the currents south of africa and madagascar would eventually bring the animals to the shore of madagascar. but this begs the question, why was the ship going south around around africa if they would have wanted to save shipping costs? My theory? they were never going to africa, they were being shipped to be part of the illegal and exotic meat trade, meaning that they had to avoid the suez canal so that their shipping manifest would not be examined
