cannot stress enough you actually gotta try to listen to people about the little things they like. even if it is boring or you dont get it. you cannot cool story bro your way into meaningful connection.
This is exactly why after conversations with people I value I make sure to compile notes for the next time we talk. It's not that difficult because there are only about five people on here I care enough to do that for.
