Some, shall we say, unwanted company waylaid me on my path tonight. Attacking a poor, defenseless old man, for shame! I managed to protect myself, and was wily enough to have the bandits on the defense — I had an opportunity to cull them, but I spared them instead, and they fled. Will they be back to attack me again? Almost certainly. But I do not regret it, and I will do the same when they return. One who shows mercy does good to their soul, but one who is cruel brings ruin on themselves.
