@ the implication of intimidation belies a fear that forms on sight. to be disconcerting, however, would mean one's presence only causes a feeling of being unsettled. perhaps nervous, but not outright afraid. @ @ to me, one would imply a fear of harm, and the other a fear of not knowing one's intention. @
