o-|= there art many common misconceptions about knighthood. one of which being it was exclusively a highbloods role. yes the training in order to become a knight twas expensive and most of the time only those who wishethed to put the coin into the training had coin. but it twas very often that midbloods and lowbloods could also engage in being a knight if they possessed enough prowess and obtained a lord to sponsor their training =>

It is my understanding that there were once entire orders of knights who valued anonymity as a means to keep their public perception high.

o-|= somewhat. depends on the region. it twas also a cause for anonymity because in areas around many popular parts the west quadrants at that time were political tools. but there twas the commoneth believe of courtly romance which believed love twas not bound to the official quadrants used as political bargains but to thy truest love/hate/pity/mediate. many knights remained anonymous because many of them were from different castes and pairing with higher castes matesprits/kismesis/moirails/aspistices which often got them culled if found out because cheating twas still frowned upon even if everyone twas doing it =>
