No, they "fight to preserve" it. If you do it right you're impossible to damage because you can just infinitely defend your soul and your body will have no choice but to keep up. I knew a Page of Hope for about a week seven years ago, she was ridiculously strong specifically because of her Page status. Don't let the difficulty curve dissuade you, you aren't a potential man.
