I like thinking of my zom8ies as 8eing mindless killing machines, 8ut it's not entirely true. They still hold some traits and memories from their little 8its and pieces, the same way that a transplanted organ is on their previous host's schedule. It's why I have to 8e so meticulous when choosing who to sew together. The aspect I had least thought a8out, however, was the will. The will is not an organ, nor is it exactly as quantifia8le as strength or intelligence, so I'd not given it much thought, 8ut it does make sense. Think of it this way... I use quite a lot of soldiers. Every troll wishes to survive on some deep, 8ase level, 8ut soldiers have already signed away their life, haven't they? There is some part of them that is welcoming death. Delicious as it is, perhaps I ought to look for trolls with less desire to die.
