The more isolated a system, the more likely heat death will overtake the space. So yes. Think about hot coffee in a thermos. You're isolating it from the greater pot, so when you put it and seal it in the thermos the heat will spread until both the air and the coffee inside of it are at the same temperature. This is a mini heat death simulation. In the simplest of terms.
