If people want to treat tonight as a joke excuse to be kind I welcome it. They might notice something on how much less hostility they receive, how differently people respond. Maybe that glimpse of an easier, more open way of interacting will stick with them. And over time, they will no longer fear being ridiculed for basic decency. #aprilfoolsday
