It seems that my alternate selves have all matured and grown in their own ways, even coming to accept and forgive their mother. Me? I remain quite far from that point. We still find ourselves having awkward arguments over the phone. I suspect it would take meeting a younger version of her just to understand what, psychologically speaking, went wrong. Ugh.
It's nice to know another Rose is also distanced and awkwardly phoning her mother as well.

i cant speak for my rose, or for all the other roses for that matter, but from what i can tell, she still carries a lotta pain tied to her relationship w old me (aka her ma), mixed in w some pretty heavy grief over her passing... which, honestly, i can relate to a lot :/ so i dunno if id say it *solved* anything exactly but i think it gave both of us a new perspective on things, yk? thats not the same as closure, but its still something ig
