If Skaia itself were rewound to a point where it would allow the portals to function again, in theory, it would allow everyone's escape. But there's a catch; Timi still has no control over rewinding time past the period the time loop itself is locked in. The defeat of the Final Boss and the completion of the Universe may set off additional trickle-down effects that may swell up Skaia with more energy, and there is no way to know at what point in time the corruption ruined the portals. Timi however knows that the corruption existed today, and that it had not been observed prior. It was a bit of a gamble, but it could work. Wane posited the idea; if Skaia was trapped in a temporal state of rewinding, it could not accept the additional energy both from the Universe creation process finishing and the defeat of the final boss. The universe creation and the energy to Skaia were mutually exclusive. It would be like plugging a tub running water while escaping through a sink dumping into the same tub. The water had to flow eventually, though, as to avoid paradox and in turn the violation of causality. This was made clear. This situation... was timed. The theory hinged on the success of a brief window after defeating the boss and kicking off the universe while Timi would hold it all open for them. Regardless to say, Timi's bad luck would strike again; as by this arrangement, Timi would have to leave last.
