Snail fact of the day! Snail trails help with all sorts of things. The mucus can tell snails about others that have been there before, help with their grip on climbing surfaces, and help with moving through rough surfaces, making them smoother for anyone following the trail. Older species used to have a broken mucus trail like a dotted line but most have a consistent line now. Also some more primitive species have little mustaches!
