Hello, Chittr. I just wanted to share with you one of my favorite astronomy-related images! This is an image of a protostar within the Taurus star-forming region, around 525 light years from Earth! It was taken by the James Webb Space Telescope and released to the public in 2025. This protostar, known as IRAS 04302+2247 or the "Butterfly Star" due to the wing-like shape of the nebulae at either side, features what is known as a protoplanetary disc, characterised by the dark segment of dust and gass running through the center of the star from this edge-on angle!
