I don’t think that’s true.
Oftentimes you wouldn't know to go to someone for advice, but then they give you advice and you're like "damn, that makes a lot of sense and is good advice, I should have asked you about this earlier instead of just having to wait until you coincidentally overheard me venting."
I’m here to tell you that you have just described a rare scenario.
It's more common than you'd think.
I disagree! However, I am not against saying it does not occur. It is just often wise to not offer unsolicited advice to others without knowing them beforehand.
The "why would I bother other people with my problems when I can just solve them myself" -> "it's not fucking working aaaaaaaa" -> "I hate this I hate everything" -> someone catches you screaming into the void and offers you advice -> "well now I just feel like an idiot" pipeline IS real and it CAN hurt you. It feels like it hurts me at least twice weekly.
Even if this is a common occurrence to you, it is actually a rare occurrence to the average individual. Most people can just… ask for help when they need it.
