It is incredibly sweet, as you might imagine. The apple and mango have different enough textures to provide a little interest without being distracting. It's a good pie. If I am honest, apple and mango also work excellently in a crumble.

Very true. The texture is significantly different, I feel. But honestly, they are very similar indeed, yes. Apple and rhubarb feels more pie-appropriate, while apple and mango makes a better crumble, but both work excellently for either form.
