Bro was raised by his father and was a child of divorce. He ended up having Dirk at a young age and then Dave a few years later. He went into the military to support his family and get away from his own dad. Over the years, Bro wasn't the best father he could have been; his trauma wasn't unpacked, and his time in the military made him unstable, and he lashed out at his sons. When Dirk turned 18, he took Dave and left, and they cut contact with him for several years. When Dave was in his mid-20s, he reached out to Bro after hearing Bro had discharged from the military, losing both of his legs, and while he was given aid was struggling to take care of himself and get by. Dave reconnected and moved in full-time to help his disabled father, and it took Dirk a few more years to come around. About the time Dirk came around, Bro was in his 40s. Bro willingly agreed to go to therapy because of Dave. He wants to be a better person and is trying to make up for his actions during their early years, and is making good progress.
