#aspe(ttalk 4/12 - void “understanding void” is an ox7moron, to be honest. an7thing mu(h deeper than surfa(e level anal7sis is like tr7ing to for(e two magnets of the same polarit7 towards ea(h other. ma7be a(tual void pla7ers understand it. the void pla7er in m7 session tried to get deep into it and it was a lot of nonsense that made m7 head hurt. still, it’s next on the list, it’s part of realit7, so might as well give it a shot. the void is the unknown. the mispla(ed, the forgotten, the se(ret, the things that aren’t 7et, the things that were but now aren’t. the dark matter and energ7 of paradox spa(e. did 7ou know that onl7 5% of the universe is ordinar7 matter, and the rest of it is this big question mark? shrink that per(entage b7 like at least a (ouple of de(imal pla(es and 7ou understand void a little more. what’s important, relevant, now, in front of 7our e7es, is a ver7, ver7 tin7 fra(tion of the whole of existen(e. a single spotlight down in a vast, dark stage. all the rest of that is void. but sin(e void is b7 definition unimportant, 7ou ma7 think that that means it’s safe to be ignored. and 7ou’d be wrong - perhaps dead wrong. an unsprung (holerbear trap is unimportant, after all, right until 7ou step on it. and then it suddenl7 be(omes ver7, ver7 important, espe(iall7 in the stor7 of 7our leg. and things that are important start off as unimportant, growing in the shade until it’s time to bust onto the s(ene. to ignore the shadows is to ignore potential, the possibilit7, the hidden. and who knows? 7ou go s(rounging in the forgotten (orners, 7ou might find something ver7 interesting indeed.
