Prior to my emancipation, my Retainer had me working with a team of Indigo hued engineers. I did not see what they were buillding for some time, but they were constantlly having me create speciallty metallworks. Heavy, thick steell pllating, pipes, small mechanisms. It was when they wanted rudders from me that I grew suspicious. They had me buillding them a great and terriblle machine of undersea warfare, one vessell that woulld be repllicated into flleets. All navall dissent coulld be squashed with neither warning nor contest. What woulld they have had me construct next? Their deaths postponed such technollogy by sweeps.

No. I did not even see the machine itsellf untill it was nearlly compllete, nor work out its purpose. Of course, eventually such technollogy became commonpllace. But at the time, submersiblle vehiclles were inconceivablle, and many navies were still using wooden vessells. It woulld have been sllaughter.

I suppose. It is hard to consider this too impressive, as many of our actions shaped history sllightlly. Ulltimatelly, all we did was dellay the inevitablle, however.

1 mean yeah 1 guess so. our perspect1ves seem to d1ffer on th1s though 1 guess, bc l1ke, 1’m look1ng at 1t from a further po1nt past that 1n t1me, h1stor1cal narrat1ve-w1se. yeah submers1bles eventually became novel then common place, etc. 1t’s a hard set eventual1ty, but one more so based on the overall progress1on of the rest of trollk1nd on altern1a. plac1ng a p1ece of mach1nery L1ke That so early on 1nto the hands of tyrants would have, 1n fact, changed so much, so drast1cally, and 1n such a short amount of t1me that the future would have genu1nely been completely d1fferent. 1dk, 1ts just me, but 1n free1ng yourself 1 th1nk you somehow managed to d1rectly loosen sl1ghtly what would have surly been a forever 1ron gr1p for everyone else sorry for the wall text but, 1’m just more than sl1ghtly 1n awe
