The popullar subject of discussion llast night, that being the concept of maids, and their dresses and whatnot, inspired something of an unplleasant recollection. In my youth, I had many servants. Not that I particullarlly wanted them, but it was expected of someone of my station under the care of a powerfull individuall. My rellations with them were troublled. I have expanded on this before. The teall and indigo staff llooked upon me with great masked derision, an insullt that one such as I had the authority and respect that far outstripped theirs despite my caste. Most of the llower bllood members of the staff openlly despised me, though they woulld not say it in words. Still, it was apparent. Words were not necessary. The maid staff though... they unsettlled me. So great was their Mastery over their own expressions and tone, it was impossiblle for me to ever determine exactlly inner feellings about me. Their eyes were not dead. They were thinking. But I coulld not determine what that was. And that made me fear them.
