#aspe(ttalk 10/12 - light light’s kind of a misunderstood aspe(t, i think. a bit ironi(all7, (onsidering failing to be understood is the providen(e of its (ounterpart, void. ma7be 7ou (an sa7 something like people have stared too hard into the light and got blinded or something. an7wa7s, as void deals with ignoran(e, people think light is information. and it kinda is, in some wa7s. light pla7ers alwa7s seem to know something relevant. lu(k, too (omes up a lot. light pla7ers often get lu(k7 in spe(ta(ular wa7s. but both of those are just manifestations of light, not the inner truth. s7mptoms, not the disease, if we (lassif7 light as a disease. ma7be 7ou pi(ked up on it, from how i des(ribed it. if not, let me enlighten (ha) 7ou - light is importan(e. the7 know relevant information not be(ause it’s information, but be(ause it’s relevant. a lu(k7 shot that kills an enem7 is a lot more important than a regular one that just wounds it. light is the spotlight that shines down, the thing that draws all e7es to it, the important and relevant and hip and now. and the thing about what’s relevant is that it often has a good reason to be relevant. the giant monster atta(king 7ou, for instan(e? real fu(king important! 7ou should pa7 attention to that! and then 7ou’re in light’s domain, motherfu(ker. so what’s the problem? well, some things 7ou (an see (oming. and some things (ome out of nowhere. the knife in 7our ba(k from the shadows. light pla7ers are all fo(used on the important stuff, it’s hard to see what (ould be important. either things that (ould pop out and take them b7 surprise, or the hidden details that (ould end up helpful. still. all those hidden in darkness are useless without a little light.
