D --> #equiusvault Number 2: Goreget D --> Warnings: #gore #body-horror and #horror may apply D --> Status: In Vault, Minimum Security Display D --> I obtained this item from a cult dedicated to the worship of Tilko'shaloth D --> The artifact is, as the name would suggest, a type of ceremonial gorget, inscribed on the front with eldritch runes venerating the aforementioned god D --> Twisted thorns of bone like material protrude from the material, e%tending both outward as well as inward, toward the wearer of the accessory D --> Indeed, to wear the item is to be forced to endure it's cost D --> The thorns will bury themselves into the skin surrounding one's neck and collar, using their pain, as well as their b100d and lifeforce itself to power itself D --> This sacrifice allows the outer thorns to become an e%ceptionally potent offensive and defensive t001 D --> The thorns on the outside can e%tend several feet, and act in defense of it's wearer, the dense material acting as a sturdy shield against blows, as well as a powerful weapon should they penetrate their target D --> Given the protrusions through the metal of the goreget itself where the thorns sprout, I have no doubt they will break through steel armor as easily as flesh, and once buried they may use their foe's lifeforce to power themselves even further D --> Removal of the artifact was e%ceedingly difficult without causing the death of the wearer, but fortunately it was managed thanks to some of the cultist's own supplies that they used for transferring the artifact between devotees D --> I worry that prolonged usage by a single person, allowing the thorns to bury in deeper, might have made removal impossible, but this remains untested D --> Given that the artifact hosts no inherent maliciousness and is inert without b100d to feast upon, it requires little in terms of safety procedures to contain and is on open display- within the confines of the vault of course
