Shouldn't this whole thing be talked about between the both of them? I don't really see how venting out in social media helps anything get better, in fact it might worsen things up, you're making public statements of so said relationship, instead of talking to your partner you're talking online to others, I might be deepening too much into it.

Hoohoo. It's a pretty common phenomenon, during personal disputes, it's natural to seek support. It /is/ a bit messy though.
It could end up making the whole situation worse, I myself would just go straight on speak to my partner, this way it'll be quickly resolved and no one will have any sort of hooks in the relationship, hook as in some info on each of the two.
