just posting for an update on this book im reading: fadeout by joseph hansen finished the first sixteen chapters of fadeout and i’m really enjoying it so far. dave brandstetter’s a great protagonist. very direct, but still interesting to follow. the pacing’s good too, feels like every conversation matters. keeps making me rethink what’s actually going on. glad you recommended it @deadeyeDetective
I am so happy to hear you enjoying it! I also admire how quickly you're eating up the pages, so to speak, haha. I really need a day to myself to indulge in a book thoroughly, but work has been "work-ing".
yeah when i'm having my down time i tend to get bored and curious about what's going on in the next chapter, it kind of pulled me in lol. work seems to be dreading us both, i hope everything's good on your end
Good as can be, if I'm honest. I actually am caught up on paperwork and giving myself tomorrow all to myself. Being your own boss has it's own perks... and downsides, of course. But yes, I'm not complaining I hope you are well off on your end as well.

good morning started reading Fadeout because i was given a recommendation for it. only a few chapters in and everybody in this book feels like they need to be hosed down with a pressure washer. really enjoying it so far

can't sleep, something tells me if i take melatonin ill sleep a little too long anyone know a good way to get to sleep quickly?
I recommend doing an extraneous exercise and hour before your scheduled bed time, taking a nice shower (not too hot, not too cold, a preferred temperature) and settle down in bed with a good book. Or you can idly do things on your phone for a while, a recent study shows that blue-light doesn’t actually impact your sleep.

Of course, I know my way around a rough night so I’m a fan of predictable routine. As for books… I am rather fond of ‘Fadeout’ by Joseph Hansen. I’ve also been reading a fair share of Kafka books, but I understand reading tastes may vary. There are plenty of good reads.
on brand for someone with detective in their handle would be partial to hardboiled fiction, haha. i'll pick up then, if it's interesting. i've had my fair share of mystery genres in my days, it might be right up my alley. appreciate it a lot, detective.
