Sometimes I will start a conversation, realise immediately that my words are being taken in bad faith rather than with the genuineness I am trying to convey, and decide I do not have the energy to attempt to rectify that. So I simply leave the conversation. I hate being misunderstood, but I can't even be bothered to do my usual trick of overexplaining. Sigh. #vagueposting

Indeed. I also am misunderstood often, as I struggle to convey tone over text. Or in general. But sometimes even before the conversation truly starts you just realise that whatever you say will be read as if your intentions are bad, and... Well, I have been trying to learn to walk away from those, even if my whole pan screams at me that if I just explain enough it'll all make sense to everyone. I know that's not how it works...

Unfortunately, I often also fail to notice or to hold back until it's far too late. Thankfully, I caught myself this time. It is a process. I believe in us both.
