I wish I could grant others shapeshifting more easily, but unfortunately it’s one of the few things that can really wipe me out for a while. And, uh, it hurts. I’m not magic, I’m something else. You’re gonna feel ALL of that. I’m a type of nanotech-based living machine that doesn’t feel pain, but y’know, most people aren’t.
I am already in pain the majority of the time. What's a little more for a chance at transformation? But in earnest, that makes sense. I am sorry to hear that it hurts, but I imagine any form of entirely rewriting yourself is going to come with rapid growing pains.
A little more yeah, but unfortunately I can never fully predict how much it’s gonna put someone in. I wouldn’t do that to you. Yeeeeeah. It’s a little better if you retain the same mass the whole way through? But still gonna hurt if you’re doing any significant biological rearrangement.

People want to think shapeshifting is like it is in media where you can just do it and it’s fine and there are no consequences or adjustment period. They do nooot like having their bubble burst.
Ah. I see. I had forgotten that some people are still unsure of how inconvenient even the most fluid of bodies can be.
Not something folks exactly tend to be educated on so I can extend some grace, but when they get stubborn I switch to mocking them. They’ve earned it by that point.
