Its fun for the manipulator to try and leverage someone's pitch feelings to make them fight their rival in a way that aligns with the manipulator's plans.... Only for them to snap back with the polite equivalent of "You don't know them like I do" and refuse to play into their hands, all without even knowing they're being manipulated, purely because they're having fun as they are. Hah. #lockanime

Aiming for the top makes you greedy, which makes you manipulable. Not aiming for the top makes you complacent, which makes you manipulable. Truly, there is no good option other than to choose your people wisely. Its an interesting message. #lockanime

Its fun to see characters who have a complex relationship with someone. Both fear and adoration, at the same time. I enjoy when that sort of thing is written well. #lockanime

I do love the episodes where Iruma gets closer to the classmates he doesn't usually get to spend as much time with. It is rare that such a large ensemble cast actually feels fleshed out. #lockanime

They are always just picking him up. He can't go 10 minutes without being manhandled. I know some people who would enjoy this treatment. He is like a little purse dog, in a way... #lockanime

Truly a shame that the idol arc is over already. I like those. Oh well. #lockanime

Very much enjoying the outfit on the left here. Both are cute, but I'm much more drawn to the darker colours. Mixed metals for the choker, cuffs and necklace are also rather fun. Matching hair extensions too... Its great design. I would enjoy something like that. Do not reply to this post telling me I could wear this. I cannot, due to reasons, and I am not seeking solutions for that. I'm just enjoying looking and imagining. #lockanime

What they do not tell you about the anime Shangri-La Frontier is that the most attractive character is the leader of the bunny rabbit mafia. I am not a furry but would be willing to convert. #lockanime

"The more I sparkle, the more she'll keep climbing to reach me." They hit the kismesistude nail on the head with this one. Competition for the sake of mutual improvement. #lockanime

Actually, it may just be a mood I'm in. This outfit is also giving me mild gender envy. Usually I don't wear skirts, but... Mm. Maybe something a bit more structured might... Oh, I don't know. I just think this is a cute outfit. #lockanime

I do think that if I had watched this show when I was 6 or so sweeps old I would present a lot more femininely than I do... I'm not sure why, but Lied is giving me minor gender envy. Perhaps I will paint my claws. Not like anyone can see them under the gloves, after all. #lockanime

I do enjoy that one of the other important elements of the show is the idea that everyone has strength in their own forms. It is key to the theming of the show that it isn't just one thing. There's fighting arcs, academic arcs, the things you'd expect from a show about demons... The idol arcs say hey. Being the strongest or smartest aren't the only important things in the world. People shine in all sorts of different ways. Its fascinating. #lockanime

Honestly, it's such a good depiction of a kismesistude in human media. I know a lot of people don't enjoy when humans use troll relationship terms, but... They "stumble upon" kismesistude in media so often that it's clear they have the means in their hearts, just not the wording. #lockanime

I do think that sometimes trying on a dress is the first step to learning something new and interesting about yourself. #lockanime

I have a lot to say about the entire subgenre of "reincarnated into an otome game" type isekai anime. I do not think anyone would wish to read an absurdly long rant about a subgenre of a subgenre, hah. But know that I have Opinions. #lockanime

When you present to me a character who acts constantly to save those around her whilst believing herself to be uniquely capable of cruelty and terrified of how another version of her hurt everyone she has ever cared for, and then every single man she happens to save starts to lust after her in a way that is sometimes a little less than cute, and often somewhat inappropriate, I am not going to be entirely pleased with it. The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen (shortened title) is not a bad show in many ways, but it also runs into the issue in which it presents to you a selection of ships, and every single one of them. Is. Not good. But it insists upon their presence. This provides a mildly uncomfortable viewing experience. #lockanime Sometimes I feel that the industry needs to be getting a little more aromantic about things. Posthaste.

Also, sometimes... Bad anime... Is good. It is contradictory, but it's true. There are shows which are, objectively speaking, not good. Poorly made, poorly written, low budget, whatever the reason. But perhaps they can still touch something inside some individuals. This makes them good, at least to them. And sometimes bad anime is good because it is so bad that it wraps around to being incredibly fun. #lockanime

I will get back to Natsume Yuujinchou at some point, by the way. But at times you have to watch things that suck, because they suck. It is refreshing for the brain to be turned off. #lockanime

I have many anime I would recommend to people. I also have many I absolutely would not but I enjoy regardless. This is simply how it is sometimes. #lockanime

Anyway. "Stale" as his name does not come close in my mind to Prince Aquasteed from another anime I don't recall the title of. Why is his name seahorse. Why is the fairy king's name Keith. KEITH???? Keith, the fairy king. Aquasteed the ordinary prince. Unbelievable. #lockanime

I'm deciding that #lockanime is going to be my general anime hashtag, not just for liveblogging. This means that those who do not care at all can filter out all of my weeb nonsense.

I actually enjoy those tacky "reincarnated as the heroine/villainess/main love interest" type anime also. They often have some of the funniest nameschemes. What do you mean her name is Pride and her adopted brother's name is Stale. Really? His name is Stale? Stale. Her sister's name is Tiara but this doesn't phase me because she is not the first character named Tiara in one of these shows and she won't be the last. #lockanime

Mm, got through the episode, but I think I may have to wait a moment for the weather to stop doing what its doing in order to watch more. The intermittent internet is alright for something like posting, but for watching videos its incredibly inconvenient. Still, very good anime. The theme of loneliness and connection is very solid throughout. I relate a lot. There are things you cannot tell others, and things that if you did tell others, they would treat you poorly for them. Mm. Poor Natsume. He lives such a lonely life, even though his friends care for him enough to know his habits and understand him. #lockanime

It does amuse me that Natsume asks "do you know that guy who just passed by?" about someone who did not in fact just pass by, in a hallway full of students, and his friends knew exactly who he meant. That does happen sometimes. If you know everyone else in the corridor, the person you don't know stands out. #lockanime

Onto episode 3. This is a good show. I'm not sure how many more episodes I can watch today, however. Its very... Vulnerable. This is a good thing, but it does mean that I may have to pace myself a little. #lockanime

Things are very well-framed. I feel a sense of foreshadowing from certain things that I'm sure will come into play later, but at present are simply a vague sensation of "this is important". That's good. That's good storytelling. #lockanime

Hm, so that was episode one. The sound design was... Interesting, perhaps not as good as I would expect. The style is interesting, it feels purposefully faded, like a summer memory. I'm intrigued to watch more. Onto the second episode. #lockanime

He's a very responsible young man. He's also concerningly quick to trust this strange yokai, but he seems to be quite young and incredibly lonely, so I can't blame him for it. #lockanime

Poor Natsume. As is quite standard, unfortunately the people in his life that he could relate to are either gone, or won't be clear with him. I'm sure he will find a way to navigate this. #lockanime
