For me, I merely said I could not attend and made myself unreachable! I still receive the lawful requests at times, but I have made it an art form of avoidance at this age.
Different laws and different lands, darling. Evidently this website is quite multiversal in nature ~~ On my Alternia, only the Imperial bloodline is subject to such traditions. The Empress' own. The rest of the upper echelon rule her lands in her absence, managing colonies and Alternian territories while she pursues the glory of conquest ~~ They will duel each other to expand their own collections, but these are a far looser affair ~~

Others may be in the same position as yourself. I can speak only for my Alternia. We haven't seen our Empress in quite some time, though, I fear. No one knows exactly where she is now, but we can presume she is still conquesting. ~~
