Naaaaah it's more like. Ok, so, shapeshifting is kinda bullshit on a science level. You see things metamorphose - butterflies from caterpillars and such - but that's a one way ticket. It takes so much energy to change a form without pain, without suffering, rebuilding someone at the cellular level like that. Unless your body is naturally suited to it, it's gonna be a BIG ask to make it not die or get fucked up from it. I'm a living machine, that's how I get away with it. I can just break myself down and build myself up with nanotech. A purely organic being capable of shapeshifting? Yeah, giving up the energy for that would knock me on my ass for weeks.
