#sylinkfilmreview #9 The Endless (2017) I h★ven't done one of these in ★ while but I re★lly did quite enjoy my time with this film so I feel it's worth it. Spoilers ★he★d obviously. The Endless is ★ film th★t we★rs its inspir★tion on its sleeve, it's ★ cosmic horror movie ★nd so owes ★ lot to H.P Lovecr★ft, evident by h★ving one of his quotes be the first thing th★t shows up. It pl★ys in this ★re★ well, like with most cosmic horror it's not re★lly "sc★ry" but does fill you with ★ cert★in sense of dre★d. From when they first return to c★mp right until the end there's this veil of the weird th★t suffoc★tes every scene. But ★ll of th★t is me★ningless if you do not c★re for the m★in ch★r★cters, so did I? ★ctors ★★ron Moorhe★d ★nd Justin Benson pl★y their p★rts incredibly well, h★ving e⚔cellent chemistry th★t does le★d you to believe th★t they re★lly ★re brothers. ★nother thing of note, ★nd something I see l★cking in ★ lot of works inspired by lovecr★ft, is th★t this movie re★lly is quite funny. Most of the time this is m★nifest in ch★r★cter dyn★mics th★t le★d themselves to b★nter, but I found there's some more m★c★bre humor too. Over★ll I think this is ★ solid 3.5/5 for sure worth your time.
