That's the problem. The ground is really hard to warm consistently. It accepts your heat but it doesn't get hotter, and then you keep getting colder, and then you've given it all your heat and it's still cold. So then you die, because you don't have heat anymore.
Fire.
But then you have to put the fire out, and then the ground gets cold again. The trick is you have to put a buffer layer between you and the ground that doesn't really accept heat.
Don't put the fire out.
But if you lie in it, you smother the fire by depriving it of oxygen.
Lie next to it?
But then it's not heating the ground you're on. It's heating next to you.
