It's sand. I don't want to get sand all over my hands, because it's irritating and hard to remove and prevents me from interacting with things like food and phones. It's also SAND, not dirt, ie a collective bunch of tiny little grains instead of clumps. How easy do you actually think expanding my hole with just my hand would be?
