Okay. You gave me the definition of the word. I really meant "can you describe the infantile behavior so I can either refute or agree." But I guess if you're viewing us as infantile, the definition being explained makes sense too.

the behavior i see in my "girlfriend" is: heightened activity levels hightened joy in doing child-like activities ("playing with toys", "coloring", "splashing around in a swimming pool") wearing childish clothes she calls it "whimsical" and "kidcore" but i feel like there's something she isn't telling me. why is she so dead set on being so childish all the time? did something rewire her brain or something? ~ (〇∧+♡Δ)

Hm. Okay, I see. Honestly, I think it's entirely possible that women are just wired to work this way. I see more maturity and willingness to "act adult" in troll women, for the most part, beyond the commonplace ribbing that appears to be required for troll socializing. With that said, there's definitely an undercurrent of something "else" there that I don't think it's really my place to discuss, as a complete outsider. There's nothing wrong with play, I suppose, if the individual is protected and not causing harm to anyone else while doing it, so I'll pivot a bit here. Does it bother you that she does this?

no no, it doesn't really bother me. she's my girlfriend after all. it's just that i am sort of confused. has she always been like this? or did something happen that made her pivot to this new behavior pattern. she doesn't do it all the time, just to be clear. but she does do it a lot, especially during heightened feelings of positive emotions. i just feel like she isn't telling me anything about why she feels like she has to act this way sometimes. ~ (〇∧+♡Δ)

Maybe she just feels safe enough to show you that facet of herself now.

okay so i saw that you were in this thread. and i just want to give more context to why i act like this sometimes. it's a trauma response. it's a response to everything that happened to me at school. it's a response to when i tried coming out as transfem to my parents. it's a response to me actually being transfem in front of my parents. it's all rooted in this. i don't think this is age regression. that's a different thing also rooted in traumatic experiences. no, i think this is just me using childish activities to clear my mind regarding such traumatic experiences. this is also why i like wearing childish clothes and water wings, it keeps my brain occupied with happy thoughts instead of thinking about being berated by my parents for daring to come out as a woman. that's why i always preach that you should always be yourself no matter what anyone says. it's okay to be yourself. i'm me, and i'd never want to be anyone else.

I'm glad, in that case, that you've been feeling safe enough to share that desire to be happy and carefree with someone else.

she is my girlfriend and i would never let anything bad happen to her. ~ (〇∧+♡Δ)
