i knew it would but that movie has me feeling very nostalgic. maybe enough to ramble into the void that is chittr about personal matters i dont often share.

if only i could decide where to start. hmmm. i was six years old when that movie was made. i loved princesses and loved imagining myself as one. i tried growing my hair out for a time to look more like princess buttercup but by the time i entered middle school i realized shoulder length was much easier to maintain without relying on anyone else for help.

ive had the thought in passing here and there. as pretty as i find long hair to be, im not so sure anymore that it would suit me. not to say i think my hair would look bad long. its more ideological than that. how do i put this? long blonde curls invoke images of innocent maidens, princesses in towers or in fields of flowers. freedom, brightness- this is getting away from me a bit. ill have to reign this back in. my short hair is practical. it doesnt get in my way and doesnt take much effort to keep orderly.

oh trust me i know quite a bit about continuing with tedious tasks in the hopes of reaching an ideal conclusion. even when it takes decades. even when the progress seems excruciatingly incremental. but im not sure about fulfilment. its hard for me to think about what sort of thing could even make me feel that way in theory.
