It depends on what you're operating on. Don't like everywhere. Infinite is a big word, but most infinities are full of shit. Ignore it. Start with what you know. Where they've been, who they've met, what they've touched, what they want, and what they do when no one's in charge of their fate but themselves. Each of those conclusions cuts down infinity into smaller, manageable infinite recursions. Then you follow the scent backwards. The Felt don't find people because we know which rock they're standing on in any specific universe. They happen to be at places that intersect with something we can see. A conversation, a fight, a message, a friend, some little point where the in falls out of the infinite and it remains as finite. If someone's too good at disappearing, well, that's what Scratch is for. String Theory's useful because it determines that infinity isn't random. Dimensions curl up in different ways. So, in theory, every universe has a fingerprint hidden beneath its shag carpet. Say I'm looking for somebody specific. I know what kinda matter they're made of. I know what kinda universe they came from. Maybe I know what timeline bullshit they've been exposed to. That's information about the configuration I'm looking for. Compare that particular finger print across the blind eternities spanning each little pocket of existence and infinity is cut down even further. And if universes are branes sitting in some higher-dimensional bulk, that's even better. Because now “where” actually means something. Two realities might be completely separate from our perspective but practically sitting next door to each other in a dimension we can't normally see. At that point you're not searching a multiverse anymore. You're looking for an address.
