(( i'm still very new to regex and have been trying to teach myself, so no promises i can make it work :') but i'm happy to try!!
(( i think it's probably possible to regex something so it only does it when a vowel is followed by a consonant, but idk how you could make it work only sometimes a la random replace... actually. this would probably be a pretty roundabout way of doing it. BUT. I think you could do the random replace and then have a regex replace beneath it that could remove extras if it goes over 4 of the same letter in a row? I can try and figure that out if you want
