The days are starting to get shorter. Winter always makes me feel nostalgic. I remember standing out in the cold, trying to build a snowman in the driveway so that my mother would have to destroy it to get to work in the morning, knowing she would struggle to tear apart something I put time and effort into. Then I would wake up the next morning with a mischievous smile on my face and peek out my window, expecting to see a pile of snow that meant I had won this particular battle of wits, only to see tire marks in a carefully navigated curve around the snowman and a freshly-fit tophat placed securely on its head.
