It bordered Oregon, Utah, California, and Arizona, all of which were also states. The most populous area within its borders was known as the Las Vegas-Paradise Metropolitan area, and was well known for housing gambling establishments and lenient marriage/divorce laws. It was the 31st most populous state within the United States. It was known as the Silver State, due to the importance of silver to its initial economy.
