Film finished!!! "The Sludge-Born Municiꫂ❁al Filth Demon, Or: Why The Lower Castes Are Once Again Being Asked To Tolerate A ꫂ❁rovince-Sized Biohazard Until A Large Angry Reꫂ❁tile ꫂ❁erforms Sanitation By Violence" (Colloquially: Godzilla vs Hedorah) I! Am not entirely sure! Why I sꫂ❁ecifically chose the one that @atomicGallivant said "used to be called the worst one" but that is in fact what I chose!!! Maybe because I'd already seen the so-called "best of them all. Best one. No argument" and wanted the full breadth of exꫂ❁erience? Anyways! I enjoyed it, haha. I'd ꫂ❁robably have enjoyed it more in a grouꫂ❁, to be honest. It did drag a little. But the charm more than made uꫂ❁ for that ^^ Because there really is something so very charming about seeing ꫂ❁eoꫂ❁le in costumes flailing about like monsters. Very theatrical! It also seemed...Well. Very reflective of the fears of the time, is how I suꫂ❁ꫂ❁ose I'd ꫂ❁ut it. A little heavy-handed, maybe, but so clearly made from a deeꫂ❁ly genuine ꫂ❁lace. It was quite earnest. That's the word to use. A little goofy, as a lot of old films tend to be, but in a lovable way. I'd say the ꫂ❁ace was my biggest griꫂ❁e, but honestly at the start I didn't mind it. I even thought to myself "It's nice to be watching something that trusts my attention sꫂ❁an and is willing to let a moment breathe." It may just have been the fights that lost me. Which likely would have been the case even if they'd been the most thrilling action ꫂ❁ut to screen! So I suꫂ❁ꫂ❁ose...my actual biggest critique would be something I mentioned earlier. About the sound effects. The same noise every time!!! Goodness!!!! It started to grate on me a little bit! I suꫂ❁ꫂ❁ose they made do with what they had, though ^^ Thank you, Gojira, for sharing this with me! Haha ❣︎
