Is there a good word for being somewhat repulsed but also vaguely fascinated by someone? I suppose it’s “watching a trainwreck” in terms of emotions. Except I wouldn’t call this individual quite /that/ compelling.

I suppose “studying them like a bug under a microscope” also captures some of the feeling, but again, I am not devoting that much effort. If there is depth to this person, I do not think it would improve my opinion of them. It could well worsen it.
