Well that was engaging. I'm going to have to track down the other versions of this, including the version of the novel 8y Troll Gaston Leroux. Apparently there were a ton of characters that actually ended up cut out of the adapt8tions of the novel? Makes sense, seems to 8e something common in human media adapt8tions.

I was making my gr8 escape from the screening of "Cats." I've got some interest in reading it, 8ut I'll have to compare and contrast. Anyway, what nuance do you mean? I think this one was pretty lopsided towards offering pity to "Erik" rather than actually having him answer for any of his crimes, which simply can't 8e the case for the troll version. Even if troll operas are known for pushing more progressive ideals (the Magic Flute is a gr8 example of this, I'd say) there's just no way an Alternian art piece could have gotten away with such 8latant anti-culling propaganda. 8eforan society would have lapped it up, though. #PTO
