I use the sword. I have gone on the record saying that I do not recommend the weapon for most however. In terms of mellee armaments, a pollearm is often a good choice. Backed up with a short sword.

I have used them before, and they are worth carrying, but I prefer llonger reach. I am, or was, never without at lleast one of my bllades anyhow, and so had llittlle need for daggers.
