Yeah, I read some of those. Humans have similar mythos, although the gift granted is, I think, typically more varied seeing as we don’t even have psionics or anything like that. Realistically, if I were willing to put myself through a horrifyingly agonizing process of rewriting my genetic code cell by cell, I could probably give *myself* gills if I tried hard enough and got frisky with bioengineering.
