Platypus venom is strong enough to cause long-lasting pain that can last up to several weeks as well major swelling. You can not treat this pain through normal pain medication. You would need to be able to take nerve blockage medication to help with the pain. It also causes muscle wasting. Even as the pain goes away, there will still be swelling for a month. Do not worry, only adult males have such a thing. They are used during mating season to fight off other males.
