aspect slander pt. 3 Light - i c0uld throw up a picture 0f vriska here and call it a night. you all kn0w it. but it would be taking the easy way 0ut and it's fucking impossible f0r anything two be easy f0r me so i'm n0t risking it. plus i imagine it's a bit of a cluckbeast and egg scenari0. was serket born the epit0me of everything wr0ng with that aspect and got it because it was such an easy match? 0r did all that retrocausality ho0fbeastshit curse her from the start? you can't make me ch0ose between blaming vriska and blaming skaia, let's f0cus on what the pr0blems with it are instead of getting caught up in that ridicul0us crap. light = luck, it's a lot m0re up front ab0ut it than space = frogs. 0r is it? it's even easier with light i think than with time tw0 forget that f0rtune is defined by what the glowing blue fuck wants first and f0remost, which is getting that next universe made. think there's a pretty clear reas0n why every light player i know's p0wers started getting extremely fucked and unreliable in a post-game state. vriska was fucking unt0uchable most 0f the session. and then she died. there's 0verlap between you living and the fr0g being successfully implanted into the battlefield, but it's n0t perfect. it's similar two time, i think. but time has greater leeway t0 let you fuck up and die s0 long as a versi0n of y0u is making the right preordained ch0ices. a light player doesn't have that fallback, s0 their abilities come 0ut as more 0bviously powerful. which is where the pr0blem starts. the only actual relati0n light has two actual lights m0st of the time is the sp0tlight. skaia hands s0meone a card that says 'y0u're the most imp0rtant person in the r0om' and gleefully watches it drive them fucking insane. a little backgr0und process running in their head at all times telling them they're better than their teammates. if every0ne would just ride their c0attails it would be as sm0oth 0f sailing as they've had being the 2nd most l0ved of skaia's pets (s0rry frogmancers. y0ur job was d0ne when you spawned in with a land). the time player's c0ercion and shepherding t0wards the endgame is softer. ir0ny jokes aside they d0n't have much time. pop up, c0rrect a 'mistake', then off t0 the next one. a light player's will be l0ud and blunt. i'm the best. make me team leader. do what i say because it w0rks out* *f0r them. that's the rub. a light player can't reliably save any0ne if the chips really come d0wn. because when things get tough and y0u're all in danger at the same time, the system is going tw0 pick whatever the slimmest margin of success (t0ward's its goals) is and give y0u that. your wants d0n't matter, skaia's does. it's running y0u down it's pre-arranged path and calling it luck. twelve in danger? save five. five in danger? save 2. 2 in danger? flip a c0in. it's a pois0nous illusi0n of success killing y0u and your team sl0wly and insidi0usly. confirmati0n bias sold as magic.
interesting. nice tw0 see another me yap ab0ut the topic. i largely agree ab0ut the metaphysics of the aspect and h0w skaia uses it two influence y0ur behavior, and especially with vr*ska slander, but small c0rrection, the aspect d0es have SOME c0nnection tw0 literal actual light- rose d0es have fairly standard light magic. also i v0te blo0d next.
