To+ clarify a little abo+ut my previo+us 'grub surfing' co+mment. I do+n't hate grubs, no+r do+ I want to+ see them hurt. Ho+wever, at the time, they were quite literally the embo+diment o+f the expectatio+ns fo+rced upo+n me by a so+cial structure that I was actively rebelling against, so+ I 'surfed' acro+ss a gro+up o+f them that were abo+ut to+ undergo+ their cavern trials, and had piled up into+ a heap. The 'surfbo+ard' was just a large piece o+f slightly bo+wled plastic that I laid in, and had a co+uple co+mpanio+ns push me acro+ss the pile. No+ne o+f them were serio+usly injured, except fo+r the little teal grub that was at the bo+tto+m o+f the pile, which the rest had been fo+cused o+n eating, hence the large pile to+ begin with. This is also+ yo+ur reminder that grubs may be a Tro+ll's 'infant' stage, but we're never fully harmless, and as much as Befo+rus liked to+ pretend o+therwise, grubs were o+ftentimes the mo+st vicio+us and ho+rrifying lifefo+rms o+n the planet at any given time. There were many reaso+ns that I left the caverns when I reached maturity. The ho+rro+rs o+f o+ur yo+ung was just part o+f it. #go+re
