D --> #equiusvault Number 5: Lantern of the Piercing Eye D --> Applicable Warnings: #gore but only in a passing manner D --> Status: In Vault, Pending Active Use D --> Unlike many of the other items in my device, this latern is both the containment device for the artifact within as well as its channel D --> I designed the lantern upon the defeat and subsequent capture of Balor Balcbéimnech Birugderc ua Néit, in order to safely contain the power of his aponymous eye, which I had to remove during our conflict D --> The latern is designed after the old style of Dark/Thieves Lantern, with a body that is constructed to withstand and conceal the immense power of Balor's venomous gaze, with only a slot in front that would allow it's escape D --> As Balor himself utilized to contain his power I constructed 7 shields to slot into the lantern's opening, to be opened one by one to allow the contained power within to escape D --> Each removed shield increases the destructive power of the eye outward, concentrated by the shape of the lantern into a spotlight of death D --> Unslotting even a single shield is enough to cause anything in the sight of the lantern to grow horrendously ill, and should the gaze be allowed to be unfettered entirely would be to burn anything in it's sight D --> Despite it's power, contained within the lantern the eye is benign, for it lacks any sort of malicious sentience D --> It is merely an object of pure fiery destruction D --> For that reason it is kept perfectly secure in a simple display, where it should be easily accessible should I ever have use for it D --> Though for what I would need such a purely destructive item, I am unsure
