I wouldn't have taken one, but there's only so much you can do when you fall asleep on the floor in the middle of a your lab.
I wasn't even aware you were a man of science. Everything I hear about you is just one surprise after another; a true renaissance man.
Science, engineering, inventing, etc., tend to go hand in hand a lot. When you're enlisted in the military, you can go to college, and it'll be paid for. I went for a doctorate in science, and engineering and inventing became self-taught interests since I love weapons.
Wow. It sounds like there's such a freedom of choice for you humans. Even for hybrid clones like me, carapacian society tends to be very regimented. There's expectations of what career you'll go into based on your genetic make-up. For me, well, it was public relations! Interacting with species like humans and trolls is almost quite literally what I was made for. As for if I have any skill in it, well, I suppose that remains to be seen! Ha ha...
It took many, many years of progress to get this far. If it was like... 50 years ago? not remotely. unless you were a specific category of human. I won't get into it cause that's not a conversation im willing to have right now. Since there is still discrimination.
That sounds very unfortunate to hear. The way The Mayor speaks of humanity, it always sounded like he idolizes the human spirit to a degree that seemed unrealistic. Still, progress is progress, no matter how small. People like us may never be able to stomp out discrimination fully, but I think there is nobility and worth in the attempt.
With a limited understanding of humanity, I can see how it happens, but don't get me wrong. What we've achieved in what is a relatively short amount of time in existence is pretty impressive, I think. Also, I agree on all fronts. It's baby steps, but those steps are still important.
I'm glad to see you're such a cerebral, yet optimistic man Mr. Strider. It's a commendable perspective for those in your position. I hope the two of us can talk face-to-face if you can make it to the gala. I feel like Midnight City could learn a lot from a man with your perspective.
